Welcome Message

Dear Members of the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences,

As we close the chapter on 2024 and step into the promising year of 2025, I extend my heartfelt wishes for health, happiness, and success in your research endeavors.
Thanks to your dedication and passion, our society has achieved remarkable progress in recent years. Membership continues to grow, and groundbreaking research across diverse fields has bolstered the global reputation of Korean brain science. Yet, alongside these accomplishments, we face significant challenges, such as reductions in research funding. Despite these hurdles, your commitment to advancing knowledge and driving innovation remains an inspiration, and for that, I am deeply grateful.

2025: A Year of New Horizons
The year 2025 promises to be a transformative period for our society. From August 24 to 27, 2025, we will host our annual academic conference at Songdo Convensia. This event will also feature the CJK Meeting, the largest neuroscience conference in Asia, co-hosted by Korea, China, and Japan.
This conference will be more than a meeting of three nations—it will serve as a platform to strengthen collaborations with neuroscientists from the broader Asia-Pacific region and beyond. By connecting researchers from around the world, we aim to elevate Korean neuroscience to even greater international prominence and set new benchmarks for academic exchange and cooperation. Your active participation and support will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this landmark event. The society is fully committed to making this conference a significant milestone in the history of Korean neuroscience.

A Society Built on Collaboration and Excellence
Our society is continually expanding its scope, embracing a wide range of fields, including neurobiology, brain engineering, brain medicine, and brain pharmaceuticals. To further this growth, we will enhance programs that support early-career researchers and foster international collaboration, ensuring that the Korean Society for Brain and Neural Sciences becomes a global hub for networking and innovation.

We are equally committed to listening to our members and integrating your feedback into the society’s operations. By establishing a transparent and efficient system, we aim to create a society that not only meets your expectations but also serves as a trusted partner in your professional journey. Together, we will strive to build a stronger, more dynamic organization.

Looking Ahead to a Bright Future
As we embark on this new year, I am confident that, with our collective efforts, we will achieve new milestones and illuminate the path forward for Korean neuroscience. Building on the foundation of tradition and excellence laid by our members, 2025 will be a year of bold steps and shared success.

Thank you for your trust and continued support. I wish you a fulfilling and prosperous year, both personally and professionally.

Warm regards,

C. Justin Lee
